In order to become a geographic
expert, you must first become familiar with earth's landforms & bodies of
water.
- Choose 3 different landforms.
- Here are some landforms that you may
choose to investigate: mountain,
peninsula, volcano, plain, plateau, basin, gulf, coast, canal,
delta, tributary, desert, cape, isthmus, strait, dune, tundra, &
glacier
- This is just a small list; you may choose
landforms not found on this list.
- Use the
resources listed below and complete a Landform Sheet for each landform. Each student in the group needs to
have their own Landform Sheet for each landform. These sheets are part of
your grade so please write neatly. Your Landform Sheet will be your
outline for the power point
- Using the landform sheet, as a team,
create one power-point
presentation for two of the
landforms.
- The slide show should contain at 4
slides. You may add more. You may cut and paste pictures to add to your
slide show. Here is an outline of what information should be on each
slide.
- Slide 1 name of the Landform and the
name of each student on the team with numbers, date and homeroom
teacher’s name
- Slide 2 Give a definition of your
landform.
- Slide 3 Describe your landform. Tell the features of
this landform.
- Slide 4 Paste a picture of the
landform
- Slide 5 (optional) Where can you
find this landform in the United States?
- As you are creating your slide show,
remember to save each slide in the same presentation. This way the
information is not lost.
- The final part of the project will be
for the team to present the information to the class and display your
slide show.
- This project will be done in school.
It should take us approx. 3 to 4 sessions in the computer lab to finish
it.
- I
encourage you to be creative and have fun with this project.
